The full release of Blitzkrieg II: The Finest Hour. This mod takes you from 1939 to 1945 and features all the major units of the European theatre of World War Two. This file will work with all known versions (fully patched to 1.04) of Zero Hour as of 30/6/09.
Blitzkrieg 2 was started by Smurf Bizkit and Proclone, during the end of 2002. Using their contacts with EA Pacific, they got beta tester discs and started modding it. It had it's initial release in November 2003, featuring just land vehicles and soldiers, and was then continued on the Generals expansion Zero Hour. Release 2 featured airplanes, superweapons and a 5 mission German campaign, and was released on 9 June 2004. Smurf Bizkit then switched teams, and went on to produce Blitzkrieg 3: Fortress Europe. However, this did not mean the end of the project, as Biohazard quickly took over and released an immense overhaul in June 2005: Release 2.5. Featuring a lot of missing art, Release 2.5 also saw the incorporation of the The Finest Hour team, adding tons of excellent art to the mod. Korona and Phoib then took over, and released R2.6 in September 2006. Release 2.6 was meant as a prelude to Release 3, but still featured new missions, new vehicles, the fearsome V2 and a novelty in the Sage Engine: drawn artillery. Korona took sole charge, and took Blitzkrieg 2 for an immense overhaul, culminating in June 2009 with the epic Release 3. Overhauling literally everything, Release 3 is considered the final version, and features more units and missions then any other Zero Hour mod ever released.
